The rides are done in either Haleakala National Park, the world's largest dormant volcano or on the Haleakala Ranch. The ranch is a 35,000-acre working cattle ranch with 7,000 head of Hereford/Santa Gertudis cattle. Enjoy the fragrant eucalyptus trees and panoramic views of the Valley Isle from the ranches 4,200-foot elevation. Haleakala Crater National Park sits at an elevation of 10,000 feet and offers plant, wildlife and views found nowhere else on Earth. The horses at Pony Express are expertly trained to accommodate every level of riding experience. The groups are keep small to make the trips enjoyable for everyone. TWO HOUR PICNIC RIDE - Includes deli-style lunch. - 11:30AM. $105.00 per person plus tax. ONE HOUR INTRODUCTORY RIDE - Designed for beginning riders and for those who want a short ride en route to Haleakala. - 3:00PM. $55.00 per person plus tax. HALEAKALA CRATER / KAPALAOA CABIN RIDE - This is the longest trail ride on Maui, covering 12 miles of incredible scenery. A picnic lunch is served at the cabin, 6 miles in. 9:30AM - 5:00PM. $190.00 per person plus tax. KA MOA O PELE JUNCTION RIDE - One of the only horseback rides in the world that goes into a dormant volcano! This trip goes all the way to the Crater floor where lunch is served. Round trip is 7.5 miles and takes 3 1/2 to 4 hours. No experience necessary. 9:30AM - 3:00PM. $155.00 per person plus tax.

MENDEZ RANCH West Maui Mountains - Monday through Saturday

Experience an unforgettable journey through Maui's most spectacular views on horseback. The journey begins at Mendes Ranch where you will be greeted by real Paniolo's. Canter up rolling pastures into the lush rain forest and gaze down into Eki Crater to view waterfalls. The narrated tour then continues down the mountain where you will see Hawaiian taro patches and plantation homes. The trail continues down along Waihee Valley through grazing cattle to the crystal blue waters of the Pacific Ocean where you can have your picture taken on horseback with the majestic sea scape as a background. RESTRICITONS: Weight limit: 250 lbs, Minimum Age 7 years. Rides offers are: PANIOLO ADVENTURE RIDE- Your equestrian adventure continues across cattle fields to the lower half of the Mendes Ranch where you will descend upon Maui's spectacular north shore. Includes a Paniolo style BBQ lunch of Mendes Ranch Ribs, smoked BBQ chicken, country-style beans, salad, rolls and refreshments. Monday-Saturday check in 8:15am. $130.00 ALOHA RIDE - This two to two and a half-hour horseback ride will feature panoramic views of the West Maui Mountains, waterfalls, and a ride along the shoreline. Includes refreshments. Available Monday - Saturday morning and afternoon. $85.00. PANIOLO HORSEBACK HELICOPTER COMBO - Includes 25-30 minute helicopter ride, 2 1/2 to 3 hour horseback ride and a BBQ lunch. Monday - Saturday times vary. $250.00 A DAY ON THE RANCH event includes a tour of the baby goats, chicks, calves, foals and ducks. ADVENTURES ON HORSEBACK North Shore Maui - Daily

The rides are done on a private ranch with majestic cliffs, spectacular ocean views, crashing waves, rolling green pastures. Each adventure outing is exciting and different. All participants are matched to a beautiful, expertly trained, privately maintained horse to match their riding ability. Due to the special nature of this outing groups are keep to a minimum and a guide accompanies the group thru the eucalyptus forest to a secluded fresh water steam. You will experience unspoiled paradise as you take a swim under a waterfall. A love for horses and an adventuresome sprit is required. One daily ride. $185.00 per person plus tax.
